Four score in double figures against Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) posted his fifth straight double-double to lead a group of four Lycoming College men's basketball players in double figures, but a hot-shooting Arcadia University was able to edge Lycoming, 79-73, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12, at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (14-9 overall, 9-5 MAC Freedom) fell into fourth-place in the conference standings with the loss as Stevens improved to 10-4 in the league with a win over Misericordia and Arcadia (11-13 overall, 10-5 MAC Freedom) also sits a half-game ahead of the Warriors.

Harward finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds to reach 750 points in his career. Junior Mo Terry (Severn, Md./Severn School) added 19 points, six rebounds and four steals, sophomore Steven Hamilton (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) added 12 points and junior DeAundre Manuel (Brooklyn, N.Y./KIPP NYC Prep) posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Senior Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Concord) posted his 700th career point in his final regular season game in Lamade Gym, finishing with seven.

After two lead changes and four ties led to a tie at 25 with 8:21 left in the first half, Arcadia closed the half on a 21-12 run to take a nine-point lead into halftime at 46-37. In the second half, Arcadia expanded the lead to 18 points at 64-46 with 9:33 left, but the Warriors got two 3-pointers from Harward and two 3-point plays from Terry (one a 3-point shot, the other an old-fashioned and-one three-point play) to make it 64-58 with 5:38 left.

The Warriors got a bit closer with 1:23 left after a free throw from Hamilton, but Justin Money hit a 3-pointer with 54 seconds left in response and the Knights hit seven free throws in the final minute to take the win.

The Knights shot 50 percent from the field (25-of-50), including 61 percent (17-of-28) in the first half, while Lycoming shot a solid 41 percent (28-of-69).

Justin Money led five Knights in double figures with 18 points and six rebounds. Jalen Watkins added 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Warriors close out their regular-season home slate on Tuesday, Feb. 15, when they host Misericordia University at 8 p.m. to cap a MAC Freedom doubleheader.
