WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With three first-period pins to help the Lycoming College wrestling team post a trio of dual-meet wins during a Lamade Gym quad-meet, junior 141-pounder
Wiley Kahler (Pottstown, Pa./Nativity BVM) has earned his first career MAC Wrestler of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Dec. 12.
Â
Kahler stuck Keystone's Michael Palinkas in 2:57, Oswego's Brett Rosenberg in 1:23 and Pitt-Bradford's Darren Christian Jr. in 2:02. He posted four takedowns, two four-point near-falls and allowed just an escape in the three matches before getting the pins.
Â
The junior improved to 15-3 on the season with five pins this year. He is 45-12 with nine pins in his career and he is 14-1 in his career in dual meets.
Â
Kahler is the second straight Warrior to earn the MAC Wrestler of the Week award, as senior
Hunter O'Connor (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) took the award on Dec. 5, after winning the 157-pound weight class at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
Â
The Warriors are taking on final exams before hosting the Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Duals on Monday, Dec. 19, as they will face SUNY Cortland at 1:30 p.m. and Centenary (N.J.) at 3 p.m.
