Chapman, Brought, Vivian, highlight final day at Diamond City

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Junior Courtney Chapman (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) took second in the 200-yard butterfly and both sophomore Noah Vivian (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and junior Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) took third in the 100-yard freestyle to highlight the Lycoming College men's and women's swim teams on the final day of the Diamond City Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Catholic Youth Center.
 
The women's team finished fifth overall with 598 points. The men's team finished sixth overall with 552 points.
 
Chapman posted a time of 2:36.24 in the 200-yard butterfly to lead the Warriors. Brought finished in 56.07 and Vivian clocked a 49.61, the best time in the race on the men's side this season. Junior Elisa DiNicola (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) placed 10th behind Brought, swimming a 58.88.
 
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Brought, DiNicola, sophomore Olivia Plotts (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), and first-year Augustus Wood (Herndon, Va./Herndon) combined for a sixth-place finish at 4:04.69.
 
For the men, Will Marcinkowski (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College) finished sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a final time of 2:22.08, the best time so far this season. Junior Eliot Keith (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) came in 10th at 2:25.62.
 
The relay team of Keith, senior Reilly Gluz (Syracuse, N.Y./Williston Northampton), junior Brennan Warner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area), and senior Caleb Reigle (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) placed seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 3:35.85.
 
The Warriors return to the pool on Friday, Dec. 9, when they face Penn State Altoona at 6 p.m. in Altoona, Pa.
