GRANTHAM, Pa. – Senior
Kenzie Reed (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) led a group of three Lycoming College women's basketball players in double figures, as it posted a 73-57 win over Clarks Summit University on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19, on the final day of the Messiah University Tip-off at Hitchcock Arena.

Reed finished the afternoon with a career-high 21 points to go with 18 rebounds, the 10
th-most in program history in a single game. She also added five assists and two steals. Sophomore
Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) scored 15 points, shooting a career-high five three-pointers, and added four assists. Junior
Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./Benton) put up 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors shot 37 percent from the field, taking a hefty 79 shots thanks to a defense that picked up 12 steals, with 34 points in the paint and 27 from downtown.

Wetzel gave the Warriors (2-3 overall) with an early lead on a 3-point shot and led all scorers in the first quarter with nine points. Reed added six points and a fastbreak jumper by sophomore
Jillian Pumputis (Westminster, Md./Westminster) gave the Warriors their largest lead of the quarter at 13 points.

Megan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) opened the next quarter with her own 3-pointer before Lockard caught her own rebound for a layup from the paint. Wetzel hit another three-pointer to give the Warriors a 17-point lead with five minutes until the half. Lockard closed the half with a layup to help the Warriors lead 39-25 after 20 minutes.

The Defenders (1-3 overall) put up 17 points in the third quarter, as they hit four three-pointers, cutting the Lycoming lead down to 11 at the end of the period Dufner led Lycoming with five points in the period.

Reed took over the game for the Warriors in the final 10 minutes of regulation, scoring on a layup at the beginning of the quarter and followed that with another six points. First-year
Kami Abdo (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) also added six points in the final quarter and Pumputis sealed the game with the final jump shot.

Elizabeth Singleton led the Defenders with 23 points and Serene Calderon led the team with six assists and 12 rebounds.

The Warriors return to the court on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they face Penn College in the home opener at 5 p.m. at Lamade Gym.
