WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Four bonus-point wins highlighted the Lycoming College wrestling team's 800
th dual meet victory in the 65-season history of the program as Lycoming opened the Budd Whitehill National Duals with a 41-3 win over Southern Virginia on Friday, Jan. 7, at Lamade Gym before falling to second-seeded Ithaca College, 38-12. Lycoming will move into the fifth- to eighth-place group on Saturday.

Lycoming (7-1 overall) is now the fifth Division III program in history to reach 800 dual meet wins, as it joined Springfield (1,049), Wilkes (898), Wartburg (851) and Olivet (814). Lycoming has an 800-318-9 record (.714) since the program's founding in 1956.

The Warriors (7-1 overall) face Messiah (3-6 overall) on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 9 a.m., to start the second day of the tournament, with the winner of that match facing the winner of the York (Pa.) (2-4 overall) and Wilkes (3-3 overall) match in the fifth-place bout at 10:30 a.m. The losers will face off in the seventh-place bout at the same time.

The Warriors picked up wins in eight of nine bouts against the Knights (2-6 overall), posting bonus-point wins in four of the six contested bouts.

Garrett Lee (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) started with a technical fall before first-year 133-pounder
Thomas Conselyea (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) notched a decision. A forfeit at 141 gave the Warriors a 14-0 lead.

Hunter O'Connor (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) notched a technical fall to start a run of 27 points by the Warriors to close the match. A pair of forfeits at 165 and 174 led into a pin by sophomore 197-pounder
Gable Crebs (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) in 1:02. Junior 285-pounder
Connor Fulmer (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) notched a big 8-0 major decision over Nico Ramirez, listed as honorable mention in d3wrestle.com's individual rankings.

Against the Bombers (3-0 overall), the Warriors picked up 12 points in two bouts while Ithaca won the other eight bouts.
