Massaro leads Warriors against Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Dominick Massaro (Centereach, N.Y./Sachem North) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team with four goals and an assist, but Arcadia University used two five-goal quarters to post a 17-9 MAC Freedom win on Saturday, April 17, at UPMC Field.
 
Sophomore Rory Hines (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) added two goals, junior Blake Premo (Massena, N.Y./Massena) had two assists and junior Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) notched a goal and an assist for Lycoming (0-9 overall, 0-7 MAC Freedom), which took 45 shots in the game.
 
Freshman Lucas Podvey (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) won half his 28 faceoffs and picked up 11 of the team's 42 groundballs. Junior Ian Chapman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) caused five turnovers and had four groundballs, senior Jake Davis (Honeoye, N.Y./Honeoye) added four caused turnovers and freshman Joe Corrozzo (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) had four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
 
Arcadia (6-5 overall, 5-2 MAC Freedom) was led by four goals and two assists from Clo Muscara and three goals and two assists from Brian Albertsen. Billy Burton and Justin Chinici also had three goals a piece. Maxwell Henry caused three turnovers and Burton had seven groundballs.
 
Arcadia scored eight of the game's first nine goals before Zimmerman and junior Michael Scarponi (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) scored in succession to make it 8-3 at halftime. The Knights expanded the lead to seven at the end of the third quarter and scored the first three goals of the fourth to lead 16-6, before the Warriors scored the next three.
 
Timmy Fyock stopped 18 shots to earn the win for Arcadia, while sophomore Sean Sonnie (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) posted 18 saves and six groundballs for the Warriors.
 
The Warriors wrap up the regular season when they head to King's (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. MAC Freedom game on Saturday, April 24.
