WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomores
Allison Butler (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area) and
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) shouldered a combined 18 points in the second half for the Lycoming College women's basketball team to help it comeback from an 18-point second quarter deficit as its downed MAC Freedom opponent FDU-Florham, 48-41, on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, at Lamade Gym.

Both Butler and Brought finished the game with 12 points to lead the Warriors (2-7 overall, 1-1 MAC Freedom). Brought hit five free throws to aid her career high to go with five rebounds. Butler hit five field goals and also posted her first career double-double, finishing with 10 rebounds.

Down 17 with 6:52 left in the third quarter, the Warriors started their comeback with a jumper by Butler and a 3-pointer from Brought, igniting a 17-3 run that made it 35-32 with 1:30 left after Butler hit a second-chance bucket.

FDU continued to hold the perilous lead until a jumper from sophomore
Mia Rudalavage (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) tied the game 39-39 for the Warriors with 5:02 left. A free-throw by Brought gave the team its first lead of the game, 40-39, 25 seconds later. Three points from Lockard pushed the lead to four points. FDU was within a possession with less than a minute remaining, but Rudalavage drew an offensive foul and FDU was forced to foul. The Warriors hit all four at the line in the closing seconds to seal the win.

Junior
Emily Zoscin (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly Area) scored nine points to go with four rebounds, two assists and three steals. Sophomore
Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./ Benton Area) had a season-high five points and four rebounds. First-year
Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) led the team with three assists and finished with four rebounds.

The Devils (1-9 overall, 1-2 MAC Freedom) had a 14-point lead before Zoscin hit a 3-pointer to make it 14-3 going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Devils led by as many as 18 with 2:36 left after a 3-pointer from Jade-Dee Tolentino made it 27-9, but Butler and Brought hit field goals to make it a 14-point game at the break.

Angela Downey led the Devils with 15 points and three rebounds, going 5-for-12 in 3-pointers. Cassidy Miller and Jade-Dee Tolentino led the team with eight rebounds each, while Arian Coleman led with five assists.

The Warriors return to the court on Saturday, Dec. 18, for a 12 p.m. MAC Freedom tip-off against King's College at Lamade Gym.
