Warriors use big first-half to cruise past Clarks Summit, 76-55

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Four Lycoming College men's basketball players finished in double figures and the team used a 40-point first half to cruise to a 76-55 win over Clarks Summit in the second round of the Dutch Burch Tip-Off on Sunday evening, Nov. 7, at Lamade Gym.
 
Junior DeAundre Manuel (Brooklyn, N.Y./KIPP NYC Prep) led the Warriors with 14 points and four steams and junior Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) added 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks, helping pace the Warriors (1-1 overall), who finished shooting 48 percent (31-of-64) from the floor. Senior Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant) posted 12 points and six assists and junior D'Andre Edmond (Pflugerville, Texas/Pflugerville) posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
 
Sophomore Steven Hamilton (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) also added eight points and three assists to go with two blocks.
 
Lycoming started the game on an 8-2 run in the first three minutes before Clarks Summit (1-1 overall) cut that lead down to two points with eight minutes left in the half. The Warriors outscored the Defenders, 25-12, in the rest of the half, as the run started with back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers from Hamilton, Harward and Ilodigwe. By the time junior Mo Terry (Severn, Md./Severn School) hit a 3-pointer with 4:04 left in the half, the Warriors had a double-figure lead that held for the last 24 minutes.
 
In the second half, Lycoming got the lead to 22 midway through the half before the Defenders cut it to 15 with 7:18 left after scoring seven straight points. The Warriors scored eight in a row in response and kept the margin at more than 20 the rest of the way.
 
Clarks Summit was led by 12 points by Ashton West and 10 points from Kelvin Chest, as the Defenders were limited to 33 percent (22-of-66) from the floor.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Friday, Nov. 12, when they host Pitt-Greensburg at 5 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
