Warriors fall to No. 14 Johns Hopkins

BALTIMORE – Junior Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) notched his second straight double-double and sophomore Steven Hamilton (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) posted a team-high 15 points to lead the Lycoming College men's basketball team which fell to No. 14 Johns Hopkins, 83-53, on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28 at Goldfarb Gymnasium.
 
Harward, who posted 19 points and 14 rebounds against Susquehanna on Tuesday, added 10 points and 11 rebounds to go with two assists and two blocks for his second straight double-double for the Warriors (4-3 overall), despite playing just 20 minutes. Hamilton posted 15 points, hitting all four of his 3-point attempts, to go with four rebounds and four assists.
 
Junior DeAundre Manuel (Brooklyn, N.Y./KIPP NYC Prep) added nine points and six rebounds and junior Tobias Walden (New York, N.Y./Southern Columbia (Pa.)) posted three assists.
 
Johns Hopkins (5-1 overall) shot 44 percent (30-of-68) from the field, as they held a 40-18 advantage in points in the paint and 18-9 in points in transition.
 
Hamilton's first 3-pointer of the game made it 11-8 nearly four minutes into the game, but Johns Hopkins scored the next 20 points over the next seven minutes to break it open. The Blue Jays finished the half with a 46-21 lead.
 
The Warriors shot just 34 percent (11-of-32) in the second half, but thanks to forcing seven turnovers, they were able to put up 32 points, led by six on a pair of 3-pointers from Hamilton, who also added all four of his assists in the period. Harward added five points and six rebounds in the period.
 
Four Blue Jays finished in double figures, led by 17 points and five 3-pointers from Carson James. Tom Quarry posted 16 points and three blocks, Conner Delaney notched 15 points, six assists and three steals and Sidney Thybulle posted 10 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Warriors will now have a week to prepare for the team's MAC Freedom opener, as it heads to Stevens for a 3 p.m. game on Saturday, Dec. 4.
