READING, Pa. – Seniors Morgan Mader (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) had 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team, which fell to 15th-ranked Albright College, 82-59, on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15, at the Bollman Center.

Mader hit 4-of-her-8 3-point attempts, becoming the first MAC Commonwealth player to hit 45 3-pointers in a conference season in six years. McFadden added nine rebounds, a block and a steal. Junior Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) posted seven points, nine rebounds and a block and junior Sydney Purcell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) added seven points and three assists. Freshman Diana Rantz (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) had a career-high six points.

Albright jumped out on an 11-3 run in the first three minutes and ended the quarter with a 33-12 lead, forcing 10 turnovers in the quarter which led to 20 Albright points. The Lions led by 32 early in the second quarter before the Warriors scored the last 12 points of the half over the course of the last six minutes, with Rantz scoring six of the last eight points to lead the run.

Lycoming continued to cut into the deficit in the second half, closing within 11 twice in the third quarter, the second time off a layup by freshman Kenzie Reed (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley), which made it 56-45 with 4:24 left. However, Albright took a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter and kept the margin in double figures for the rest of the game.

After Albright started the game by shooting 74 percent in the first quarter (14-of-19), they shot less than 40 percent the rest of the game, as Lycoming outscored Albright by six points in the second and third quarters. Albright posted 29 points off turnover and 16 in transition, while Lycoming had 21 points off turnover and 11 second-chance points.

Abby Gaffney led the Lions with 20 points, six assists and five rebounds, Dejah Terrell added 16 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks and both Maggie O'Hare and Gabby Boggs had 13 points.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Feb. 22, when they host Stevenson University at 1 p.m. in the MAC Commonwealth season finale, with a spot in the conference championship on the line.
