YORK, Pa. – Freshman
Katherine Brown (Abington, Pa./Glenside) took second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:06.14 to highlight the Lycoming College swimming team's third day at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Brown posted the second-fastest time in program history, just behind Stacy Flick's school-record of 1:05.43 set in 2011, as she had a split of 31.15 in the first 50 and 34.99 in the second 50, both second only to race winner, Grace Nikolski of Misericordia (1:04.27), a three-time MAC champion. She took more than 1.5 seconds off her time in the event from her high school conference championships in 2019.

Sophomore
Devon Kaiser (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) also scored points for the Warriors in the event, finishing 19
th in 1:13.85, topping her previous career-best in the race by more than a second. Senior
Elena Pikounis (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) also took 19
th in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:28.35.

Will Gillespie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished 17
th in the 200-yard butterfly, winning the 'c' final in 2:07.59. Junior
Dominick Berardelli (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) took 20
th in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a career-best 57.88 and freshman
William Marcinkowski (Philadelphia, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) took 20
th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best 1:04.53.

The 800-yard freestyle relay team of junior
Brandon Vought (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area), Berardelli, Gillespie and Marcinkowski took 10
th in 7:47.46.

The Warriors get back in the pool at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, when they will race the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke, the 200-yard breaststroke and the 1,650-yard freestyle. The 400-yard freestyle relay will also be decided during the finals session which begins at 6 p.m. at the Graham Aquatic Center.
