WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Cara Zortman (York, Pa./York Suburban) and freshman Katherine Brown (Glenside, Pa./Abington) won two events on the women's side, while juniors Brandon Vought (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area), Dominick Berardelli (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and freshman Matthew Michenfelder (East Winsor, N.J./Hightstown) each won two events to cap a Lycoming College swimming of Marywood University on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Lamade Gym Natatorium.

The men posted a 109-50 win and the women won 107-79.

The women's team (5-6 overall) won 9-of-11 events, including senior Elena Pikounis (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) winning the 100-yard butterfly in her last home meet.

Zortman turned in a time of 25.70 in the 50-yard freestyle and a 56.60 in the 100-yard freestyle. Brown placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.91 and 1:10.34 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Brown and Pikounis teamed up with fellow senior Michaela Thode (Anderson, Calif./West Valley) and sophomore Devon Kaiser (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) on the winning 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:59.31. Thode, Pikounis, Zortman and junior Sheila Whitman (Lake Ariel, Pa./Wallenpaupack) won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:50.72.
Junior Mikayla Wright (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) took the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:43.24.

The Lycoming men (4-7 overall) claimed 10-of-11 events, with Vought notching wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:41.66 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:18.24. Michenfelder won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.46 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle event in 54.62 seconds. Berardelli won the 200-yard IM in 2:10.67 and the 100-yard backstroke in 59.80 seconds.

Berardelli and Michenfelder teamed up with freshman William Marcinkowski (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College) and sophomore Jake Booth (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:47.47.

Booth, despite losing his goggles, was also able to post a win in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:53.21. Marcinkowski won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.98.

Lycoming travels to York College for the four-day MAC Championship beginning Wednesday, Feb. 12 through Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Graham Aquatic Center on the campus of York College.
