Morgan Mader (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) had 21 to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball, which overcame a 19-point third-quarter deficit to force overtime, but 11
th-ranked Albright eked out of Lamade Gym with a 92-88 MAC Commonwealth win on Wednesday night, Jan. 8.

Lutz finished with 26 points, hitting 13-of-18 from the field, to go with 14 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season and Mader had 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and adding a career-high seven assists for the Warriors (9-5 overall, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth). Freshman

Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) notched 14 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals.

The Warriors entered the fourth quarter behind, 66-50. Reed started the quarter with a second-chance bucket, then the Warriors used a full-court press to get a turnover before Mader hit a 3-pointer to make it 66-55. A minute later, senior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) canned a jumper to make it a seven-point game as the Warriors kept chopping away, closing within a possession off a 3-pointer from Mader that made it 72-69 with 4:09 left. With 2:32 left, she hit another trifecta in transition to tie the game at 74.

A field goal from Dejah Terrell was followed by a pair of free throws from Kline. Lutz grabbed a defense rebound, which led to a fastbreak bucket on a long outlet pass from McFadden to Mader, giving Lycoming its first lead since the first quarter. Lutz followed with an open look to make it 80-76 with 33 seconds left. Abby Gaffney answered with an old-fashioned 3-point play to make with 18 seconds left before McFadden made it a two-point game by hitting a free throw with 10 ticks left. Terrell hit two free throws with seven seconds left to send it to overtime, where Albright hit one more field goal, a 3-pointer, and one more free throw to make up the final margin.

After Lycoming built an 11-5 lead in the first 3:14 of the game, Albright responded by outscoring Lycoming 23-10 in the rest of the period. It continued to build the lead in the second period, leading by 16 at 47-31 at the break. In the third quarter, it led by 19 at 64-45 with 1:13 left before Mader hit a three, which cut it to 16 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Kline finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three assists for Lycoming.

Terrell led Albright with 31 points and 12 rebounds and Gabby Boggs posted 11 points and 12 rebounds. Brady Wassell posted 16 points and seven rebounds and Maggie O'Hare notched 13 points for the Lions, which shot 43 percent (33-for-77) from the field, while allowing Lycoming to shoot 50 percent (36-of-72).
