Mo Terry (Severn, Md./Severn School) led the Lycoming College men's basketball team, but Messiah College used a strong second half to post a 79-68 MAC Commonwealth win at Hitchcock Arena on Wednesday, Jan 29.

The Warrior post players had a strong game, with Terry posting a double double and freshman
Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) tacked on 16 points to lead the Warriors (13-6 overall, 6-4 MAC Commonwealth).

Tobias Walden Jr. (New York, N.Y./Southern Columbia) offered help from the bench with a season-high eight points coming in the first half and senior
Ryan Hollis (Centerville, Md./Saints Peters & Paul) added nine points.Â

Hollis drained back-to-back threes in the 13
th minute to give the Warriors its first lead of the night at 13-12 and from there, the Warriors expanded the lead to 12 points at 35-23 with 3:24 left in the first half. Hollis, Terry and Harward each scored six points, giving Lycoming a 38-33 lead after Colin Sareyka banked in a three to end the half for Messiah.

The Warriors built a nine-point lead to open the second half as Hollis hit a three at the 15:33 mark, but Messiah's EJ Porter responded with a three of his own on the next sequence. Porter hit two foul shots and a jumper with 9:46 left to give Messiah a 54-53 lead, its first of the half, as it came at the midway point of a 15-0 run that gave Messiah a 61-53 lead with 6:53 left.

The Warriors closed within five with just more than a minute left after an offensive rebound and two Messiah turnovers led to six straight points from Terry to make it 73-68, but Messiah closed the game out by hitting six straight free throws.

Porter scored 19 of his team-leading 31 points in the second half. Sareyka added 23 points and Kyle Krout scored 12 for the Falcons. Josh Darville added nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Warriors continue its string of MAC Commonwealth games with a home game against Hood College on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.
