Emily Zoscin (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly Area) cut in front of a Lebanon Valley player, got a steal and crashed to the floor after she was pulled from behind. She hit both free throws and given the new life, the Lycoming College women's basketball team took a lead in the second overtime and never looked back in an 81-77 MAC Commonwealth win on Wednesday night, Jan. 15, at Lamade Gym.

Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) led the Warriors (11-5 overall, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth) with a career-high 30 points to go with 12 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season, as Lycoming shot 45 percent (33-of-73) in the game and limited Lebanon Valley (7-8 overall, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth) to 35 percent (26-of-74). Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) added 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists and junior
Sydney Purcell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) had a career-best 10 points and four assists.

Down 71-70 early in the second overtime, Purcell got a rebound and found an opening on the offensive end to give Lycoming the lead with a layup. After Mader pulled down an offensive rebound, Lutz completed an old-fashioned 3-point play with the baby turnaround off glass. Halfway through the period, Lutz hit a jumper at the elbow to make it 77-72. The Dutchmen cut the lead back to one with 40 seconds left, but the Warriors hit 4-of-6 at the line in the closing seconds to seal a Lycoming win in its first double-overtime game in program history.

In the first overtime, the Warriors faced a 64-57 deficit with three minutes left after Morgan Bamberger nailed a transition 3-pointer. The Warriors shut down the Dutchmen from the field after that, and a McFadden hit an open look from three to make it 66-64 with 1:03 left. After an LVC free throw, Lutz hit a second chance. layup to bring it back to a point with 12 seconds left. Forced to foul, the Warriors watched as Emily Mealey hit two free throws. The Dutchmen fouled at halfcourt and McFadden hit one free throw to make it 69-67, setting up Zoscin's steal.

Lebanon Valley tied the score a 38 halfway through the third quarter before Lycoming went on a 10-0 run to close the quarter, with Mader hitting back-to-back treys to make it 48-38. McFadden added a fastbreak bucket to start the fourth, but Lebanon Valley chipped away, tying the game with 20 seconds left on a layup by Daelyn Stabler, sending the game into overtime tied at 57.

Lycoming came out running in the first half, opening up a 16-5 lead in the first five minutes, as Purcell and Lutz each had six points during the run, with Lycoming hitting 8-of-9 from the field in that span. Lebanon Valley responded with a 23-9 run that took up the next 11 minutes, getting a 28-25 lead with 4:11 left, but the Warriors ended the rally with a layup by Lutz and took a 32-28 lead at the break off a 3-pointer from McFadden with 37 seconds left.

Emily Mealey led the Dutchmen with 23 points and 14 rebounds and Bamberger posted 15 points and four assists. Stabler had 13 points, four assists and four steals and Jamie Youngkin had 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
