Lycoming soar past Flying Dutchmen, 76-54

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville) blocked five shots and freshman Jon-Marc Flores-Diaz (San Antonio, Texas/William Howard Taft) and sophomore D'Andre Edmond (Pflugerville, Texas/Pflugerville) each a had block as the Lycoming College men's basketball team limited Lebanon Valley to just 35 percent shooting in a 76-54 MAC Commonwealth win on Wednesday night, Jan. 18, at Lamade Gymnasium.
 
Lycoming (11-4, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth), the No. 1 scoring defense in the MAC Commonwealth, held all Lebanon Valley players under 10 points and forced 11 turnovers in the game.
 
Freshman Mo Terry (Severn, Md./Severn School) led the Warrior offense with his second 20-point game of the season, Edmond was a career-best 6-for-7 shooting for 12 points and sophomore Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington) was the third Warrior in double figures with 11 points.
 
Junior Darius Dangerfield (Abington, Md./Harford Tech) started a 9-2 run with the Warriors leading, 12-10 at the 12-minute mark. Dangerfield hit a two-point bucket, Flores-Diaz followed with a layup and Ilodigwe knocked down a three as the Warriors stretched the game to, 21-12. The Warriors continued to build its lead to 10 after an Edmond fast-break layup. Senior Ryan Hollis (Centerville, Md./Saints Peters and Paul) knocked down a three to end the half and give Lycoming a 19-point lead, 42-23.
 
Edmond went 5-for-5 with 10 of his 12 points in the first half and Ilodigwe knocked down three 3-pointers for nine points, as the Warriors shot 60 percent from the field. Lycoming collected five steals and Lebanon Valley turned the ball over six times and shot just 33 percent.
 
Lycoming had its biggest lead (23) of the game after Terry made two foul shots and an Ilodigwe layup pushed Lycoming out to a 46-23 advantage. The Warriors held at least a 16-point lead over Lebanon Valley for the whole second half.
 
Bryce Diehl scored seven points and three players finished with five for the Flying Dutchmen.
 
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 18,, at MAC Commonwealth opponent Arcadia University. Tip-off set for 3 p.m. after the women's teams play at 1 p.m.
