WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) set the school-record for career saves while making a season-low four stops, and the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team scored more than 20 goals for the first time in 11 years as it posted a 23-6 win over Alvernia University in MAC Commonwealth action at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Wednesday, April 24.

The Warriors (7-8 overall, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth) clinched the No. 3 spot in the MAC Commonwealth Championship that begins next week, the first time since 2012 that the squad has earned that high a seed in the postseason. Lycoming will head to either Messiah or Stevenson for a conference semifinal game on Wednesday, May 1 at a time to be determined.

Tenant had a flurry of two saves late in the third quarter to finish the game with 657 career saves, two ahead of the record of 655 set by Jared Jankowski from 1998-01.

Lycoming took 76 shots in the game, as it posted the seventh-most goals in program history and the most since a 27-8 win over Moravian in 2004.

Max Crumlich (New Cumberland, Pa./Red Land) won 10-of-12 at the faceoff circle, grabbing five groundballs. The team also forced 16 turnovers, with seniors
Cole Masterson (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima),
Eric Schutta (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley),
Austin Arroyo (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Collin Bitsko (Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold Township) each claiming two.

After an Alvernia goal midway through the first quarter made it 3-2, the Warriors scored nine straight to take a 12-2 lead. The Golden Wolves (3-12 overall, 0-7 MAC Commonwealth) scored twice before the half came to a close, but Lycoming scored eight more unanswered in the third quarter to keep the game out of reach.

Andrew Ritchie led the Wolves with two goals and three assists and Jarret Abernethy added two goals, an assist and five groundballs. Jacob O'Donnell posted 20 saves.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 27, when they host Hood College at 1 p.m. in MAC Commonwealth action.
