WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Posting three goals each in the second and third quarters, the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team was able to take control en route to a key 9-6 MAC Commonwealth win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday afternoon, April 10, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Lycoming led for 55 minutes in the game, starting when freshman
Max Hanson (Prattville, Ala./Bishop Machebeuf (Colo.)) took the rebound off a shot and fired it in the net with 10:00 left in the first quarter.

The defense locked down throughout the game, allowing just two goals in even play. The Warriors scooped up 33 groundballs, led by five each from senior
Cole Masterson (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and freshman
Justin Joseph (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area). Senior
Colin Bitsko (Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold Township) added three groundballs. Senior
Austin Arroyo (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) added three caused turnovers and sophomore
Jake Davis (Honeoye, N.Y./Honeoye) had two.

In net, senior
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) stopped 16 shots to give him 198 on the season, two shy of becoming the fifth player in program history to stop 200 in a season, and 640 in his
career, 15 shy of the school record set by Jared Jankowski (1998-01).

Freshman
Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) led the offense with three goals and an assist and both sophomore
Dominick Massaro (Centereach, N.Y./Sachem North) and senior
Travis Rode (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) each had two scores. Junior
Shain Quigley (Lincoln University, Pa./Oxford Area) also added a goal, an assist and two groundballs.

Zimmerman gave Lycoming a 2-0 lead with 6:40 left in the first quarter before Lebanon Valley scored two of the next three goals, closing within 3-2 with 12:00 left in the second. The Warriors responded with strikes from Massaro and Quigley to take a 5-2 lead. Matt Torrence scored with 5:27 left for Lebanon Valley to make it 5-3 at the break.

In the third quarter, the Warriors scored three of the first four goals, with Zimmerman scoring with 7:46 left to make it 8-4. Lebanon Valley closed within three twice more, but Lycoming used eight Tenant saves in the second half to preserve the win.

Kevin Beaver led the Flying Dutchmen with four goals and an assist and Evan Crawford posted three assists. Luke Tamberino notched nine groundballs and caused two turnovers. Cam Epple notched 12 saves in net.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 13, when they head to Arcadia University for a 1 p.m. MAC Commonwealth game.
