GRANTHAM, Pa. – A four-goal rally in the fourth quarter helped the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team make a comeback effort, but Messiah College was able to hold on for a 12-8 win in MAC Commonwealth action at the Messiah Lacrosse Field.

Senior Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) (2-7) stopped 17 shots in the game, moving into second in school history in career saves with 587, as he moved past Kyle Gilfoy (572, 2006-09) and Alex Wylly (582, 2012-15).

Senior Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) led the Warriors (2-7 overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) with three goals, two assists and three groundballs and senior Travis Rode (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) added two goals and two groundballs. Freshman Justin Joseph (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) won 14-of-18 at the faceoff 'x' and picked up nine groundballs and senior Eric Schutta (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) added four groundballs and a caused turnover.

Down 11-4 after 2:30 in the fourth quarter, the Warriors rallied with Rode scoring with 12:16 left, junior Shain Quigley (Lincoln University, Pa./Oxford Area) with 5:57 and Ream with 14 seconds left to make it 12-7 before an own goal made up the final difference.

Messiah used a run of five straight goals to start the game before Lycoming posted three in a row in a 70-second span to close the first half to make it, 5-3, at the break. The Falcons scored the first five goals of the second half, though, to take control.

Hunter Bellows led the Falcons with six goals and Cory Hurst added three goals and an assist. Dylan Gillisse added six groundballs.

Evan Stoker (4-3) earned the win for the Falcons with 12 saves.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, March 30, when they host Widener University at 1 p.m. in a MAC Commonwealth game.
