Late rally falls short against Haverford

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Calvin Chandler (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) posted a career-high 24 points and sophomore Darius Dangerfield (Abington, Md./Harford Tech) added 18 to help the Lycoming College men's basketball team cut an 18-point first-half deficit to five late in the second, but Haverford College was able to prevail, 82-64, in the consolation game of the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament on Jan. 5, in Lamade Gym.

In the championship game, Misericordia beat Penn State Abington, 78-67. Misericordia's Tony Harding was named tournament MVP after posting 23 points, on 3-of-5 shooting from three, and adding 7 assists in the title game.

After trailing 50-32 at halftime, Dangerfield and Chandler caught fire from the floor, leading the Warriors on a 15-6 run to cut the Fords lead to single-digits for the first time since the 5:01 mark in the first period. During the run, Dangerfield was 3-of-3 from the floor for eight points and Chandler added six. A Chandler three cut the Fords lead to 69-64 with 4:25 remaining, but a 3-pointer out of a timeout helped Haverford close the game on a 13-0 run.
