WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior
Calvin Chandler (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) tied a career high of 24 points and the Lycoming College men's basketball team knocked down a season-high 16 3-pointers in a 70-56 victory over Lebanon Valley College in MAC Commonwealth action, on Wednesday night, Jan. 23, in Lamade Gym.

Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Concord) (5-of-12) both reached career highs for threes in a game.

Chandler was 9-of-17 from the floor and added eight rebounds to go along with his 24 points. Ilodigwe finished with 17 points, three rebounds and a steal. Sophomore
Darius Dangerfield (Abingdon, Md./Harford Tech) netted 17 points on 4-of-7 from three while dishing out five assists and senior
Darius James (Brooklyn N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) had six points and eight rebounds.

The Warriors (7-12 overall, 2-8 MAC Commonwealth) stormed out to a 12-0 lead through the game's first three minutes, following three 3-pointers from Chandler and another from
Ilodigwe. Lycoming expanded their lead to 22-5 with 13:53 to go after a triple from Dangerfield. Chandler knocked down his sixth triple of the half to give the Warriors a 35-13 lead with 6:55 remaining. Lycoming outscored the Flying Dutchmen (6-13 overall, 3-7 MAC Commonwealth), 15-8, to close out the half and headed into the break holding a 47-21 advantage.Â

The Warriors made 13 triples in the half, two shy of their season high for an entire game. Chandler (6-of-9), Dangerfield (3-of-3), Ilodigwe (3-of-7), and Doughty (1-of-3) were responsible for the 3-pointers in the half. Lycoming shot 56 percent (13-of-23) from three and 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field.

The Warriors started the second period on a 13-4 run to gain their largest lead of the game, 60-25, with 14:04 left. Lebanon Valley responded with a 15-4 run over the next six minutes to close the gap to 64-40. The Flying Dutchmen used another 16-6 run to close out the game, but the deficit was too severe to overcome.

The Warriors finished the game with 18 assists compared to Lebanon Valley's 13, and won the turnover battle 12-6.

Jeremy Deihm led the Flying Dutchmen with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Justin Baker added 11 points and six boards.

The Warriors are back on the court on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. when they head to Albright College for a MAC Commonwealth contest at the George C. Bollman Center.
