Warriors outlasted by Knights in OT

GLENSIDE, Pa. – A furious fourth-quarter comeback by the Lycoming College women's  basketball team fell just short, as Lycoming fell to Arcadia University, 74-68, in overtime in MAC Commonwealth action on Monday evening, Jan. 21, at Alumni Gymnasium.

Down 62-56 with 2:26 left, the Warriors (13-5 overall, 7-2 MAC Commonwealth) dashed back into the game, with freshman Kelly Vuz (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) driving in for a layup to cut the lead to four. Lycoming cut the lead to two with 1:08 left off two free throws from senior Becca Painter (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and tied the game with two more from junior Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) with 44 seconds left.

Painter blocked a Knights' shot and a double-dribble gave Lycoming the ball back with 18 seconds left. The Warriors set up for the final play, with a 3-pointer falling off the mark, as well as a second-chance layup at the buzzer.

McFadden hit two layups to start the overtime period, giving Lycoming a 66-62 lead, but the Knights (7-11 overall, 4-5 MAC Commonwealth) responded with the last 12 points of the game.
