Felix Mahon (Les Avenieres, France) won his first career match in a superset tiebreaker to lead the Lycoming College men's tennis team, which fell to FDU-Florham, 8-1, in non-conference action at Bruce Henry Park on Friday afternoon, Sept. 28.

Mahon downed J.T. Murray 10-7 in the superset tiebreaker for his first win, as he posted a 6-1 win in the second set to start the comeback after falling in the first, 6-4.

Senior
Sam Lamport (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) also had a strong showing at No. 4 singles, falling to Brendon Urbano, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Mahon and junior
Mitch Wheary (Lock Haven, Pa/Central Mountain) also put together a strong match at No. 1 doubles, falling to Rich Bennett and Kevin Weller, 9-7.

Lycoming fell to 0-2 and FDU-Florham improved to 1-0.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when they host Penn College in a 4 p.m. match at Bruce Henry Park.
