WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Mitch Wheary (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) won his first singles match of the season at No. 1 singles to lead the Lycoming College men's tennis team, who fell to King's, 8-1, in non-conference action Sunday afternoon, Oct. 7, at Bruce Henry Park.
Wheary downed Cam Tuck 8-1 to pick up his 13
th career singles win. Wheary also had a strong showing in No. 1 doubles, as he teamed up with freshman
Felix Mahon (Les Avenières,
France) in a 8-6 defeat against Tyler Millan and Austin Mackey.
Mahon had another strong showing in No. 2 singles, falling to Owen Hagerty, 9-8 (7).
The Warriors fall to 0-3 and King's improves to 1-1.
The Warriors are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 9 for a 3 p.m. start when they host Penn College at Bruce Henry Park.
