WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Thanks to five man-up goals, the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team was able to cruise to a 12-6 MAC Commonwealth win over Arcadia University in the regular-season finale on Saturday, April 28, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
 
The Warriors (9-6 overall, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth) ensured their first winning season since 2011 with the victory, as it will enter the postseason as the No. 4 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship. They will face fifth-seeded Lebanon Valley on Monday, April 30 at 4 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex in the first round of the conference tournament. Tickets will be available at the Mulberry Street gate on Monday for $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six and Lycoming College students will be admitted free.
 
Junior 
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) made 14 saves, seven in each half, as he won his third straight game while allowing six or fewer goals.
 
The offense, meanwhile, saw seven players find the cage for the team's 12 goals, with sophomore 
Drew Collins (Victor, N.Y./Victor) leading the man-up offense with two goals and an assist, as the team converted 5-of-7 extra-man opportunities in the game.
 
Senior 
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and sophomore 
Tyler Thompson (Napean, Ontario/Mother Teresa) each finished with a goal and three assists and Collins finished with three goals and an assist. Junior 
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) added two goals and an assist and both sophomore 
Aidan Kirkendall (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) and junior 
Travis Rode (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) each had two scoring strikes.
 
Arcadia (6-8 overall, 2-6 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board just 52 seconds into the game, but the Warriors responded with five straight goals, to take control of the game over the next 23 minutes, heading into halftime with a 7-3 lead. Arcadia cut the deficit to three twice, the second time at 9-6 off a man-up goal from C.J. Sherlock with 4:59 left in the third, but a twisting goal from freshman 
Brandon Waden (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) with 14 seconds left in the third period helped put Lycoming back in the driver's seat. In the final 15 minutes, Lycoming scored twice, while Tenant made four saves to keep the Knights from the scoreboard.
 
The Warriors, despite winning just four faceoffs, won the battle of groundballs, 40-34, with Thompson leading the team with six and both Huff and junior 
Austin Arroyo (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) each posting four. Junior defensemen 
Ryan Fetzer (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) and 
Eric Schutta (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) each caused two turnovers.
 
Clo Muscara led the Knights with two goals and an assist and J.P. Shaaber added a goal and an assist. Conor Cunningham grabbed 10 groundballs and Brendan Kuzminski posted two caused turnovers and two groundballs, while making two saves in the second half in net. A.J. Beck stopped four shots in the first half.
