CHESTER, Pa. – Junior
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) finished with three goals to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but Widener University surged in the second half to post a 12-7 MAC Commonwealth win on Saturday night, April 14, at Quick Stadium.

Ream's three goals gives him 36 on the season, as he paced the Lycoming offense, which fired 35 shots in the game. Sophomore
Drew Collins (Victor, N.Y./Victor) added two goals, sophomore
Tyler Thompson (Napean, Ontario/Mother Teresa) had two assists and senior
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post West) and junior
Travis Rode (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) each had a goal and an assist.

The Warriors (6-6 overall, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) jumped out to a two-goal lead in the game's first six minutes off a pair of goals from Collins. Widener (4-8 overall, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth), though, answered with four goals during the rest of the quarter to gain a 4-2 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Warriors regained momentum thanks to Ream, who scored three goals in a row, two in man-up situations, to make it 5-4 with 5:13 left. The Pride drew even before the break with a goal from Paz Gismondi, though.

The Pride continued a run of six straight goals into the fourth quarter when Huff the run with a man-up goal. Widener, though, scored two of the last three goals to prevent a comeback.

Junior
Alex Artur (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) led the Warriors with five groundballs, nine faceoff wins and a caused turnover. Sophomore
Nick Russello (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and junior
Austin Arroyo (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) each had three groundballs and a caused turnover.

Brady Franks led the Pride with four goals and two assists and Gismondi posted three goals and two assists. Anthony Paone had 10 groundballs and won 14 faceoffs. John Ferguson caused seven turnovers and picked up nine groundballs.

Junior
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) stopped 13 shots in 58 minutes and freshman
Tim O'Connor (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) added one save in two minutes. Matt Horton stopped eight shots in 59 minutes and Bryan Mauser made three stops for the Pride in the final minute.

The Warriors get back in action on Wednesday, April 18, when they host Albright College at 3:30 p.m. in an important MAC Commonwealth match.
