WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Holding the Penn College to just 17 points in the second half, the Lycoming College women's basketball team rolled past its crosstown rival, 63-46, in non-conference action at Bardo Gym on Tuesday night, Nov. 20.

Two Warriors finished with double-doubles, as sophomore
Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) posted 17 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double and junior
Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) added 12 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, three steals and two blocks. Junior
Morgan Mader (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) notched 10 points, hitting two 3-pointers, and junior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) posted nine points and six rebounds.

The Warriors (3-1 overall) shot 39 percent (27-of-70) in the game and were effective on the glass, outscoring the Wildcats (0-3 overall), 42-12, in the paint. Penn College was held to 28 percent (16-of-58) from the floor.

After fighting through three ties and seven lead changes in the first 25 minutes of the game, Lycoming tied the game at 39 on a layup by freshman
Kelly Vuz (Blairstown, N.J./North
Warren Regional) and took the lead when senior
Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) found Vuz for another layup with 3:16 left in the third quarter. Grove followed with a jumper and Lutz scored the last five points of the quarter, giving Lycoming a 48-39 lead at the end of the quarter.

Lycoming added seven more straight points to start the fourth quarter, with McFadden posting five of them, to make it 55-39 with 7:42 left, wrapping up the run of 16 straight points. Penn College cut within 11 with four minutes left, but Lycoming scored the last six points of the game.

 Neither team took more than a five-point lead in the first half, with Lycoming scoring the first five points before an 11-2 run from Penn College gave it an 11-7 lead. Lycoming was able to retake the lead and led for all but one possession of the second quarter, taking a 30-29 lead into the break. Penn College took the lead back three times in the third quarter before Lycoming's 16-point run.

Madison Klock led the Wildcats with 17 points. Gwendolyn Lavelle added eight points and Kylah Brown had seven points and four assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Sunday, Nov. 25, when they host Susquehanna University in non-conference action at 4 p.m. at Lamade Gym.
