YORK, Pa. – Sophomore Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team to a 67-58 victory over non-conference opponent La Roche College in the consolation game of the York Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 17, at the Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

Lutz scored her 21 points while going 10-of-12 from the field and was two rebounds shy of a double-double, finishing with eight. Junior Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) had her second double-double of the season, going a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor and finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Morgan Mader (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) had 13 points while hitting a team-high three 3-pointers and junior Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) had eight points and a team-high five assists.

Freshman Kelly Vuz (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) added eight points in as many minutes off the bench to help spark the Warriors' second unit.

Lycoming (2-1 overall) shot 45 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the free-throw line (13-of-18) and the defense held La Roche to 36 percent from the field.

After falling behind 20-16 in the closing minute of the first quarter, a layup by Vuz and a 3-pointer from Mader sent the Warriors (2-1 overall) on a 25-9 run to head into the half with a 41-29 lead. During the run, Mader had 11 points and hit all three of her 3-pointers.

A jumper by sophomore Sydney Purcell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) gave Lycoming a 50-36 lead, their largest of the night, with four minutes to go in the third. In a game that was defined by runs, the Redhawks (0-3 overall) used a 14-2 run, over the next 4:34 to take a one point lead, 53-52, after a layup and a free-throw. Lycoming however, closed the game out by outscoring La Roche, 15-6, and put the game away after two made free throws by McFadden.

Dasja Anderson finished with a double-double to lead three Redhawks in double figures with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jenna Cole had 14 points and Shaundrea Butler had 10 points and eight assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Nov.  20 at 5 p.m. when they travel crosstown to face rival Penn College at the Bardo Gymnasium.
