HAZLETON, Pa. – For the second year in a row, the Lycoming College women's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season by scoring more points in a game than it ever had before, shooting 47 percent from the floor and hitting 15 3-pointers to post a 118-56 win over Penn State-Hazleton on Tuesday night, Nov. 13, at the Penn State-Hazleton Gym.

Four Warriors (1-0 overall) finished in double figures, led by 22 points and a 6-of-10 effort from behind-the-arc by junior
Morgan Mader (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East), who crossed 300 career points in the game. She also added three assists. Junior
Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) notched 15 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, two assists and two blocks and junior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) also added a double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Sophomore
Erica Lutz (Hamburg, Pa./Bernville) posted 14 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.

Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) posted eight points, eight rebound, three assists and two steals and junior
Megan Helminiak (Williamsport, Pa./St. John Neumann) also added a career-high eight points. Freshman
Alex Jones (Glenshaw, Pa./Saint Joseph) posted eight points and four rebounds and both sophomore
Sydney Purcell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and freshman
Kelly Vuz (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) each had six points. Purcell also had four assists and three steals.

Lycoming cruised past its former single-game high for points of 108, set in a 108-61 win over Penn State-Hazleton on Nov. 25, 2017, with freshman
Ryanna Lamoreaux (Montour Falls, N.Y./Watkins Glen) hitting a layup with 4:45 left to give Lycoming its 110
th point of the night.

Mckenzie Prutsman posted a game-high 26 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Lions (1-2 overall) and Lauren Pataki posted 11 points. Mekenzie Wolfe posted nine points and nine rebounds, as Penn State Hazleton shot just 23 percent (13-of-56) in the game.

Lycoming held a 42-20 advantage in the paint, a 21-5 lead in second-chance points and 25-6 in points off turnovers.

The Warriors built a 12-2 lead with a run of 10 straight points in the first quarter, with Mader posting the last five points of the run. By the end of the quarter, Lycoming led 35-10, extending the lead to 63-27 at halftime and nearly doubled that in the second half, leading by 64 points at 117-54 with 1:59 left.

The Warriors get back on the court on Friday, Nov. 16, when they face SUNY Geneseo in the opening round of the York Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at 7:30 p.m.
