Stettenbauer, Tueno hook up for game-winner against Widener

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior defender Sainclair Tueno (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season off a corner kick from senior Kyle Stettenbauer (Columbia, Pa./Hempfield) with less than seven minutes remaining and the 15th-ranked Lycoming College men's soccer team opened its MAC Commonwealth schedule with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Widener University on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Stettenbauer set up his corner kick from the left side of the goal and Tueno leaped from the crowd in front of the net and scored the game-winning goal with his header in the 84th minute.

The Warriors (10-1 overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) fell behind in the first half when the Pride's John Colbert used a crossfield pass to find a sprinting Nick LeFevre, who fired it into the bottom left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead in the 37th minute, where the score stood at halftime.

Lycoming controlled pace after the break, continuing to threaten before finally tying the game at 52:17 when senior Jordan Logan (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) volleyed a pass to senior Abdullahi Abdi (Seattle, Wash./James Garfield), who scored the equalizer on his fourth goal of the season and 25th of his career, moving him into eighth in program history in goals scored.

The Warrior defense held strong and allowed just five shots while its offense accounted for 25 shots. Senior goalie Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lanape) made one save in the win while Danny Thompson made 10 saves for Widener (3-4-2 overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth).

The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 3, when they head to Lebanon Valley to take on the Flying Dutchmen in a 4 p.m. MAC Commonwealth game.
