th-ranked Lycoming College men's soccer team defeated Lebanon Valley College, 2-0, in MAC Commonwealth action on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 3, at Herbert Field.
On Webb's goal, Abdi drew the foul just outside the 18-yard box and Webb was able to take advantage as he bent the shot with his left foot over the Lebanon Valley defensive wall and into the upper right corner of the goal, past the diving Flying Dutchmen keeper for the 1-0 lead. Abdi added his fifth goal of the season, tied for most on the team with junior
Sainclair Tueno (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair), when he dribbled right down the middle of the field and fired a shot into the bottom left corner for the 2-0 lead in the 67
th minute.
Junior goalkeeper
Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) made five saves, with a couple huge saves including a sprawling penalty kick save late in the first half that preserved the 1-0 Warrior lead. Cam Avery made five saves for the Dutchmen.
Lycoming (11-1, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) outshot Lebanon Valley (6-2-1, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth), 11-8 in the second half and held a 7-5 shots on goal advantage.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they take on Arcadia in another conference road game at 2:30 p.m.
