Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) led the Lycoming College volleyball team with seven kills, but Messiah College was able to get close wins in the first and third set to post a 3-0 MAC Commonwealth win (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) in Lamade Gym on Wednesday night, Sept. 20.

The Warriors (8-4 overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) fell behind 18-11 in the first set, but fought back within four points at 19-15. They couldn't get closer though, as Messiah (4-8 overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth), which hit .321 in the set posted a 25-19 win. In the second set, the Falcons hit .440 and opened up a 23-12 lead before the Warriors scored five straight points to close the gap to 23-17 before Messiah won the last two sets to close the set.

Lycoming battled back from a 13-5 deficit by posting an 11-1 run, with Singleton serving up six straight points in a row. From there, the two teams fought to a tie at 21 before Messiah scored four of the last five points to earn the win.

Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) notched six kills, five digs and two blocks and sophomore
Katie Hausknecht (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) added five kills and a block. Senior
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) posted 16 assists and sophomore
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) added 10 assists, two kills and three aces. Junior
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led the team with eight digs.

Messiah was led by 11 kills and three blocks from Mary Underman, nine kills from Alycia Park-Ferretti and eight kills and six blocks from Payton Manwaring. Jennifer Rusling posted 33 assists and Amanda Dahlman added 12 digs. Jessica Zellers also added four aces.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 23, when they head to Scranton for a quad-match, facing Mount St. Vincent at 11:30 a.m. and Scranton at 3:30 p.m.
