MEDIA, Pa. — The Lycoming College women's volleyball team fell to Penn St.-Brandywine 3-2 in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Brandywine Commons Gym. The Warriors won the first and fourth sets and finished with 53 kills, but Penn St. Brandywine took the deciding set 15-9.

Sophomore
Emi Wenger (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) scored a team-high 20 points with 18 kills, two aces and seven digs.
Sophomore Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wash./Sultan) matched Wenger with 18 kills and hit .581, adding three block assists for 19.5 points. Sophomore
Lara DeFreitas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) collected a team-high 25 digs and added six assists and two aces and sophomore
Addison Morgan (Bethlehem, Pa./Northampton) finished with 21 assists, 12 digs and eight kills.

The Warriors took the opening set 25-15, using four straight service points on DeFreitas' serve during the set. That stretch included a DeFreitas ace and two
Emi Wenger kills, and Wenger and
Kamryn Skeith each finished the set with five kills.

Wenger finished with three kills in the second set, and sophomore
Ellie Dunkelberger (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) and Skeith combined on two blocks, but Penn St. Brandywine closed out the set 25-20.

The Warriors scored four straight points in the third set on junior
Elizabeth Mayer (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh)'s serve, including a Skeith kill, a Mayer ace and a block by Skeith and Dunkelberger, but Penn St. Brandywine took the set 25-20.

The Warriors answered Penn St. Brandywine's three-point start by winning seven of the next eight rallies, a stretch that included two Wenger kills, a DeFreitas ace and a Mayer block. The Warriors later put together four straight service points with a Wenger ace, two Wenger kills and a senior
Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) ace, then finished the fourth set on Skeith's kill for a 25-17 win.

The Lions scored the first three points of the fifth set. Skeith supplied three late kills for the Warriors, while Wenger, Morgan and sophomore
Charlene Petreshock (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) also added kills. Penn St. Brandywine took the set 15-9.

The Warriors are 3-9 overall. Penn St. Brandywine is 4-4 overall.
