GLENSIDE, Pa. – An eight goal-run from the first to the third quarter for the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team helped it overcome a three-goal deficit and post a 10-7 win over Arcadia University in MAC Commonwealth action at Jean Lenox West Field on Saturday, April 8.

Freshmen
Richie Hurley (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and
Drew Collins (Victor, N.Y./Victor) led the Warriors (4-7 overall, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) with three goals apiece and freshman
Tyler Thompson (Napean, Ontario/Mother Teresa) added two goals and three assists.

The Knights (3-8 overall, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) started the game with three goals in the first seven minutes before Lycoming began its run. Collins got the Warriors on the board off an assist from freshman
Aidan Kirkendall (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) just after an Arcadia penalty expired with 5:32 left in the first quarter. A pair of goals, one from sophomore
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and a man-up score from Hurley off a give from junior
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) within 40 seconds of each other in the second quarter game Lycoming a 4-3 lead with 12:21 left.

Lycoming continued its run, with Hurley scoring with 15 seconds left to make it 7-3 at halftime, and Thompson scored with 9:07 left in the third quarter to make it 8-3 before Arcadia scored a pair of goals to make it a three-goal game with 5:23 left in the period.

That was as close as Arcadia could get, but they did close within three goals twice more, the last time with 2:43 left.

Senior
Kyle Armstrong (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) won 10-of-15 at the faceoff 'x' and he picked up three ground balls. Senior
Jacob Eller (Durham, N.C./Riverside) added three ground balls and caused three turnovers and sophomore
Austin Arroyo (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) added three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Sophomore
Collin Bitsko (Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold Township) led the team with four ground balls.

Arcadia was led by two goals and an assist from both Austin Williams and Clo Muscara. Josh Keitz led the team defensively, posting five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

In goal, sophomore
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) (4-6) finished with seven saves to earn the win while also picking up four ground balls. Danny Lipkin (3-8) stopped 10 shots in the loss for the Knights.

Lycoming controlled most of the statistical categories, outshooting Arcadia, 36-29, picking up more groundballs, 38-32, winning 11-of-19 faceoffs and forcing 23 Arcadia turnovers.

The Warriors get back in action on Thursday, April 13, when they host Lebanon Valley in a key MAC Commonwealth game at 3:30 p.m. in the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
