Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) tied the school record for combined wins in a season and she teamed with freshman partner
Julia Nagle (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) to become the first doubles team to win 12 matches in a season to lead the Lycoming College women's tennis team to a 9-0 MAC Commonwealth win over Hood College on Saturday, April 22, at Bruce Henry Park.
The Warriors (11-5 overall, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) are temporarily ahold of a .5-game lead for the fourth and final spot to advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship, pending the outcome of Stevenson and Arcadia's match on Sunday, April 23. The Warriors will wrap up the regular season by facing Arcadia on the road on Saturday, April 29.
Summerson and Nagle won their record-breaking 12
th doubles match of the year, 8-0, over Bianca Hoch and Kara Conway at No. 2 doubles, surpassing a mark of 11 set four times. Both Summerson and Nagle are tied for first in school history with 12 doubles wins in a season with Jamie Kaiser, who went 12-4 in 1998-99.
In singles action, Summerson topped Michelle Shedd, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 to win her 12
th singles match of the season and her 24
th combined win, tying her with Cricket Temple, who went a combined 24-2 in 2000-01, when she set the school record with 14 singles wins in a season.
Summerson, who is both 12-6 in singles in doubles action this year, is closely followed by Nagle, who is 12-6 in doubles play and 10-7 in singles action, as she sits fourth in school history with 22 combined wins after posting a 6-0, 6-0 win over Conway at No. 4.
Senior
Sophie Herzing (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) and junior
Kaitlin Hallabuk (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) posted an 8-4 win over Shedd and Meaghan Donahue at No. 1 doubles. In singles action, Herzing posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Donahue at No. 2 and Hallabuk won her career-high 10
th singles match in a nailbiting 7-6 (7), 7-5 win over Hoch at No. 3.

th singles wins of the year, became just the 15
th and 16
th players in school history to reach double figures in a season. Summerson, with 12 singles wins, meanwhile, is tied for third in school history.
Sophomore
Kimberleigh Parroccini (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) added the team's other contested win, posting a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jessica Burke at No. 5 singles. The team also got the benefit of forfeits at No. 6 singles and No 3 doubles.
The Warriors get back into action on Monday, April 24, when they will host Penn College in a dual meet at Bruce Henry Park at 3 p.m.
