GRANTHAM, Pa. – Sophomore
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) scored three goals and junior
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) added two goals and two assists to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but a run of five straight goals helped the Messiah College escape the Starry Athletic Complex with a 12-8 MAC Commonwealth win on Saturday, April 22.

Sophomore
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) stopped 20 shots in net, as Messiah fired 67 shots in the game. With 177 saves on the season, Tenant is tied for seventh in school history with Alex Wylly, who stopped the same amount in 2015.

After Messiah (8-4 overall, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth) scored the first goal of the game, the Warriors (5-8 overall, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth) controlled much of the rest of the first quarter, as Huff, freshman
Tyler Thompson (Napean, Ontario/Mother Teresa) and Ream all scored to make it 3-1 with 4:01 left.

Messiah cut the lead in half with a goal with 55 seconds left in the quarter, but Lycoming took the two-goal lead back just 90 seconds into the second quarter, as Huff found freshman
Shane Quigley (Lincoln University, Pa./Oxford Area) for a goal. The Falcons, though used an 8-2 run over the next 23 minutes, though, to get a 10-6 lead.

Ream scored with 1:18 left in the third to make it a three-goal game and a Messiah penalty gave Lycoming the ball to start the fourth quarter, but Lycoming couldn't draw closer than three goals in the final 15 minutes.

Tenant, in addition to his 20 saves, also scooped up eight groundballs and caused three turnovers. Ream also picked up four groundballs and sophomore
Travis Rode (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) added three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Senior
Peter Pluta (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) added two assists and freshman
Aidan Kirkendall (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) scored his first career goal in a man-up situation. Senior
Kyle Armstrong (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) finished 8-of-15 at the faceoff 'x', as Lycoming won 11-of-23 during the day.

Joseph Franken led the Falcons with four goals and Justin Bradley finished with two goals, two assists and six groundballs.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 29, when they face Widener University in a MAC Commonwealth game that will have certain MAC Commonwealth Championship implications. Face-off is set for 1 p.m.
