WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) extended her hitting streak to 24 games and tied the school's single-season hits record for the Lycoming College softball team, which ended a 15-year drought against Lebanon Valley College, posting a 12-4 win in the nightcap to split a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader after falling 7-1 in the first game at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Thursday, April 13.
Kline, who now has a tie for the 28
th-longest hitting streak in Division III history, extended the streak with a sixth-inning single in the first game before going 2-for-4 with three runs in the second game, tying the school record for hits with a fourth-inning triple to left center. She tied the mark set by Jeanine Evans (1999) and Jess Nabholz (2010).
Senior
Morgan Kunes (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) also had a monster second game, going 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBI, helping Lycoming to break its 24-game losing streak to Lebanon Valley in a 12-4 five-inning win to cap the doubleheader.
Kunes' four RBIs give her 29 on the season, just one shy of the school record of 30 set by Susan Leuthner in 1996, while her first-inning two-run homer to center field tied her with Amy Cline '13 for second in school history with nine round trippers in a career.
The Warriors (16-8 overall, 5-5 MAC Commonwealth) jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to Kunes' two-out homer after Kline singled to right to start the inning. Lebanon Valley (18-10 overall, 7-5 MAC Commonwealth) responded with three runs in the top of the second, but the Flying Dutchmen's lead was short-lived.
Lycoming scored seven runs in the bottom of the second to take a 9-3 lead. Junior

Lycoming tacked on another run in the third, as Shady reached on a one-out error, took second on a two-out walk by Crabb and scored on a single and an error to left from Schoenstadt. The Warriors ensured the quick end to the game in the fifth, as sophomore
Lexie Kovin (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) singled through the right side to lead off. After a popout, Kline delivered a triple into the left-center field gap to score Kovin. After a lineout, Shady singled to right center to make it 12-3.
Nace shut down the Dutchmen in the fifth after they scored a run off three hits, as she got a pair of popouts to end the game with runners on first and second.

In the first game, Lebanon Valley used a four-run seventh inning to break open the game and post a 7-1 win behind a three-hitter from Madeline Abbott.
Abbott (11-3) struck out five and walked three for the Dutchmen, as she held off a sixth-inning rally that left two runners on to secure the win.
Down 3-0 after Lebanon Valley scored a run in the first and two in the fourth, Lycoming got started with a single by Kline in the sixth inning. After a sac bunt, Shady and Kunes both walked to load the bases with one out. Crabb followed with sac fly, but another flyout ended the threat.
