Mariah Durrant (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) took the tiebreaker, 8-6, to lift the Lycoming College women's tennis team to a dramatic 5-4 MAC Commonwealth win over Stevenson University to clinch the team's first winning season since 2003 on Saturday, April 1, at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.

The Warriors (9-2 overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) used the bottom half of its lineup to notch the win, its second straight over the Mustangs (3-6 overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth), as it won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and No. 4, 5, and 6 singles matches, with the latter two coming in three sets.

Durrant provided the clinching point as she improved to 7-2 this season with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (6) win over Nina Betz at No. 6 singles.

The team's other singles wins came from sophomore
Kimberleigh Parroccini (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) added a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win over Colleen Martin at No. 5 singles and freshman
Julia Nagle (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) added a 6-4, 6-2 win over Christina Endy at No. 4 to improve to 8-4 on the season.

In the first three singles flights, the Warriors lost two sets 7-5 and one 7-6, as well as one going three sets, with all three matches tight.

In the earlier doubles play, Nagle teamed with freshman
Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) to post an 8-2 win over Kirstyn Davidson and Endy at No. 2 to become the sixth duo in program history to win 10 matches in a single season together. Parroccini teamed with sophomore
Brittany Lenze (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) for an 8-3 win over Martin and Betz at No. 3.

The Warriors continue MAC Commonwealth play on Tuesday, April 4, when they host Albright College at 3:30 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
