D'Yante Doughty (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) stole the ball and fired a pass up to a streaking sophomore
Ronald Jefferson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King), who made the layup with eight seconds remaining as the defending MAC Commonwealth champion Lycoming College men's basketball team hung on for a 96-92 exhibition game win over defending MAC Freedom champion Misericordia University in Champions for Charity on Wednesday night, Nov. 8, at Lamade Gym.

The exhibition was a part of the Champions for Charity game in which Lycoming and Misericordia teamed up to help raise funds for the Red Cross Hurricane Maria Relief Fund.

Chris Wallace (Randallstown, Md./Calvert Hall) led the Warriors with 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting. He added three rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Sophomore
Damani Myers (Baldwin, N.Y./St. Mary's) notched 12 points and a team-high six assists with four rebounds and two steals. Junior
T.J. Duckett (Severna Park, Md./Calvert Hall) and Jefferson combined for 24 of the 41 Warrior bench points as Duckett had 14 points with four rebounds, while hitting 4-of-7 3-pointers, and Jefferson had 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.

In a close game from start to finish with the biggest lead being eight by Misericordia in the first half, the Warriors fought back and took a halftime lead at 46-42. By late in the second half, Doughty hit two free throws with 4:08 remaining to put Lycoming up 85-81, but a 4-point play by Tre' Fields just 15 seconds later tied the game. Alex Newbold (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) hit a layup to help the Warriors take a 90-88 lead. Misericordia went on a quick three-point run with a made jumper and free throw with 33 seconds remaining to make it 91-90. After Lycoming was called for a travel with 17 seconds left, Doughty earned a steal at midcourt and found Jefferson to give the Warriors the lead for good. Doughty and senior

Lycoming forced 29 Misericordia turnovers that led to 43 points. Lycoming also held a 38-20 points in the paint advantage.

James had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists for Lycoming while freshman
Ramadan Jennings (Jackson, Ohio/Life Skills) added nine points, three rebounds and three blocks off the bench.

Misericordia's Stone McCreary scored a team-high 23 points off the bench while hitting 6-of-8 from downtown and Tre' Fields added 21 points and eight rebounds.Â
