UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Senior 174-pounder Brandon Conrad (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) and junior heavyweight Garrett Wesneski (Canton, Pa./Canton Area) each won four matches on Sunday, Nov. 19, to lead the Lycoming College wrestling team at the John Carroll University Duals, leading the team to a 3-1 performance at the event.
 
The Warriors (3-1 overall) dismissed Lourdes, 37-9, edged out Otterbein, 23-18, fell to John Carroll, 25-12, and defeated Penn State Behrend, 44-7.
 
Conrad improved to 10-2 on the season, as he became the 13^th wrestler in school history to reach 90 career wins with his last of the day, a first-period pin of Penn State Behrand's Zachary Ishman. Wesneski improved to 12-1 on the year, as the sixth-ranked wrestler posted two pins and a major decision while getting the benefit of a forfeit as well.
 
Freshman 125-pounder Cameron Terry (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), sophomore 157-pounder Hadyn Swartwood (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) and junior Trevor Corl (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte Area) each won three matches, with Swartwood reaching 40 career wins.
 
Lycoming's most dramatic win came against Otterbein (3-1 overall), who beat the Warriors, 30-13, in  2016, as Wesneski provided a second-period pin against Nate Temple to give Lycoming six team points in the five-point win. The Cardinals took an early, 8-0 lead, before wins from Landis, Corl and Swartwood gave the Warriors a 13-8 lead. Otterbein won three of the next four bouts though to take an 18-17 lead heading into the heavyweight bout, where Wesneski clinched the win.
 
After Lourdes (1-5 overall) took a 9-3 lead through the first three matches, the Warriors won the last seven bouts, posting bonus points in four bouts, with Swartwood, freshman 165-pounder Kyle Bennett (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) and Wesneski all had pins and Corl notched a technical fall.
 
The Warriors won the first seven bouts against Penn State Behrend (1-4 overall), posting 40 points in the process thanks to a major from Terry, a forfeit and five straight pins from freshman 141-pounder Ethan Landis (Canton, Pa./Canton Area), Corl, Swartwood, Bennett and Conrad.
 
John Carroll (5-1 overall) won five bouts in a row from 133 to 165 pounds to take a 20-3 lead before Conrad provided a 6-4 sudden-victory win over Blake Dixon, but the Blue Streaks won the next two bouts as well to clinch the win.
 
The Warriors get back on the mat on Saturday, Dec. 2, when they head to the RIT Invitational, which is set to start at 9 a.m.
