Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) moved into the top 10 in school history in career aces with her 142
nd in the Lycoming College volleyball team's final match at the Alfred Crossover Tournament, but the team fell, 3-0 to Houghton and 3-0 to Alfred University, to wrap up its time at the tournament on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Against Houghton (11-14 overall), the Warriors (13-15 overall) fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-15), as the team was led by 14 digs from sophomore
Lindsay Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown Community).
Freshman
Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) posted seven kills and four digs and sophomore
Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) added five kills, six digs and a block. Burger finished with 11 assists and four digs and sophomore
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) added 10 assists and four digs. Sophomore
Darci Warriner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) also added eight digs and freshman
Elle Jednorski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) notched five blocks and three kills.
The Warriors had three tough sets against Alfred (6-19 overall), but the Saxons used 40 kills to notch a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) win.
Singleton led the Warriors with eight kills, six digs and three blocks and Jednorski added seven kills and three blocks. Titus also added five kills and two aces. Burger finished with 19 assists and five digs and Morris notched eight assists and six digs.
Amber Smith led the Saxons with 15 kills and eight digs and Jacquelynn Hicks added 11 kills. Elisabeth Estep posted nine digs and Aubrey Totsline had 33 assists, eight digs and four aces.
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Oct. 18, when they host Widener University in a Middle Atlantic Conference match at 7 p.m. Before the game, the Warriors will recognize the team's two seniors – Burger and
Taryn Wojnar (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Crestwood).
