Warriors fall to River Hawks

Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior Mariah Durrant (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) completed a two-set win on Wednesday, Sept. 28, but the Lycoming College women's tennis team couldn't complete a comeback in the resumption of a suspended match at Susquehanna University, falling 6-3 in non-conference action.

The match was suspended on Sept. 21 with Susquehanna (3-1 overall) holding a 4-2 lead and three matches on the court when darkness fell. The Warriors (6-2 overall) had picked up a pair of wins thanks to freshman Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport), who posted an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles with freshman partner Julia Nagle (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area), and added a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

When the match resumed on Wednesday, Durrant provided a 6-3, 7-5 win over Amy Jennings at No. 6 singles, but Susquehanna picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles to wrap up the match.

Lycoming will get back on the court on Saturday, Oct. 1, when they host Rutgers-Camden at 12 p.m. at the West Branch Tennis Club in South Williamsport.
