Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) and
Julia Nagle (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and sophomore
Kimberleigh Parroccini (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) won both their singles and doubles matches to lead the Lycoming College women's tennis team to its sixth win of the year, 7-2, at Misericordia University on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Misericordia Tennis Complex.
The Warriors (6-1 overall) won five singles matches and two doubles bouts to earn the team's sixth win of the season for the first time since the 2002 team finished 7-3. The team's four-match winning streak is also the longest for the program since the 2002 team started the year 4-0.
Summerson and Nagle teamed up to post an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles before Summerson improved to 6-1 with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win over Belles at No. 1 and freshman
Julia Nagle (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Courtney Portaro at No. 4.
Parroccini, meanwhile, notched a 6-0, 6-1 win over Giselle Huertero at No. 6 singles and teamed with sophomore
Brittany Lenze (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) to head off with an 8-1 win over Morgan Gable and Huertero at No. 3 doubles.
The Warriors won two other singles matches, as junior
Kaitlin Hallabuk (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Misericordia's Erika Slowicki at No. 3 and senior
Mariah Durrant (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) notched a 6-3, 6-2 win over Gable at No. 5.
Misericordia fell to 0-2.
The Warriors get back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 28, when they head to Susquehanna University to resume a match called due to darkness last week with Susquehanna holding a 4-2 lead.
