LANGHORNE, Pa. – As might be expected of two of the best runners from District 4 as high school seniors, freshmen
Quincy Amabile (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) and
Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) had impressive debuts for the Lycoming College cross country program on a steamy, Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Highlander Invitational. Amabile posted the eighth-best time in the men's program's history while finishing third and Long posted the third-best time in the women's program's history to take sixth.

In addition, junior
Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) posted a career-best 26:25 to take 10
th and medal at the event, helping the women's team to a fourth-place finish out of nine teams. The men took third out of six, outpacing Middle Atlantic Conference rival Arcadia, 81-100.

Amabile took third in the race, finishing with a 28:17.05 in his 8K debut with the Warriors while posting the best time for a four-year college runner in the race. Only Monroe College's James Majenge (27:10.83) and Vincent Kibunja (27:11.61) finished ahead of him.

Long, who posted the third time in program history with a 25:05.17 on the women's 6K course, finished sixth and behind on three four-year college runners.

The Warrior women had five others finish in the top 50 of the 90-runner field to round out its scoring-effecting runners. Junior
Lindsay Smith (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finished 27
th in 28:46.00 and senior
Sarah Donovan (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) took 31
st in 29:23.61. Freshman
Amanda Goulden (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) took 35
th to round out the Warriors scorers, finishing in 29:34.56.

Kaitlin Fair (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) took 41
st in her first collegiate race in 30:02.24 and senior
Abigail O'Connor (Mt. Holly Springs, Pa./Home-schooled) took 44
th in 30:31.23.

Three other Warrior men also finished in the top 25, with junior
Joseph Ingrum (Lodi, Calif./Lodi) finishing in 33:23.10 to take 19
th, freshman
Gustavo Vergara (Santa Ana, Calif./Valley) finished in 34:27.15 to take 23
rd and freshman
James Wait (Cherry Valley, N.Y./Cherry Valley) took 25th in the field of 56 with a time of in 35:27.78.

Dan Yoder (Montoursville, Pa./Home-schooled) took 34
th in 37:51.71 and senior
Donald Keys (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) took 35
th in 37:56.10 to round out the scoring five. Senior
Bryant Dietrick (Muncy, Pa./Muncy Area) (39:02.33) and senior
John Woodburn (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) (40:01.08) rounded out the team's top seven.
The Warriors will be back in action at the Cougar Classic at Misericordia University on Saturday, Sept. 17. The women will start at 10:30 a.m. before the men at 11:15 a.m.
