Zackary Collevechio (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley), the Lycoming College men's tennis team reached six wins in a season for just the third time since 1985 and the 19
th time in program history, as it notched a 6-3 MAC Commonwealth win over Hood College on Saturday, April 16, at the Hood Tennis Complex.

The Warriors (6-8 overall, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) won two doubles and four singles flights to earn the win over the Blazers (2-11 overall, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth), as the team won its first conference match since an 8-1 win over Hood on April 27, 2013.

Collevechio, with the two wins, moved into a tie for 12
th in school history with 18 combined wins this season, as he is 9-7 in both singles and doubles play. He is two wins shy of becoming the seventh player in school history to win 20 matches in a season. Smith improved to 9-6 overall in singles action to stay on pace with Collevechio for the team lead.

Zachary High (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) got the Warriors on the board with an 8-0 win over Natnail Tesfay and Tanner Ruths at No. 3 doubles before junior
Bryce Jones (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) and Smith defeated Alex Sexton and Joe Benton, 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.

The Warriors continued to play well in singles play, with Smith providing a 6-2, 6-2 win over Benton at No. 2 and senior
Joe Amento (Ambler, Pa./Abington Friends School) notching a 7-6 (1), 6-1 win over Jorden Hahn at No. 3. Even after a three-set loss at No. 1 singles, the Warriors were able to add a 6-4, 6-1 win by junior
Evan Bennetch (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Bible Baptist School) over Conor Riggin at No. 4 and a 6-2, 6-1 win by Collevechio over Tesfay at No. 6.

The Warriors had won just four matches in the previous four seasons and are enjoying their first six-win campaign since going 8-4 in 2010-11, when the squad reached the MAC Commonwealth Championship finals.

The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, April 20, when they face Lebanon Valley in a key 4 p.m. MAC Commonwealth battle at Bruce Henry Park.
