Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) posted two goals and an assist and freshman
Tim Breau (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) posted a goal and two assists to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but Muhlenberg College used a strong third quarter to post an 11-5 non-conference win on Saturday afternoon, March 12, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
The Warriors (1-5 overall) headed into the break tied at three with the Mules (3-3 overall), but Muhlenberg scored the first eight goals of the second half to take control. The game was marred by penalties, with Lycoming scoring a season-best three goals in man-up situations, but also allowing a season-worst four man-up goals.

Jake Wanamaker (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) found Breau for a quick look from eight yards out to tie the game with a man-up goal. After a three-minute illegal crosse stick penalty to Muhlenberg, the Warriors took the lead early in the second quarter, as junior
Peter Pluta (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) scored on a dish from Huff.
Muhlenberg responded with two goals to take a 3-2 lead with 8:12 left, but Lycoming again responded, as Breau ran behind the crease and with space, he found Huff in front of the crease for the score to send the game into the break tied at three.
After Muhlenberg's run of eight goals, Lycoming scored twice in the last three minutes, with freshman
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) finding senior
Lee Pappas (New Windsor, Pa./Glenelg Country School) for a transition goal and Breau hooking up with Hoff for a man-up goal to round out the scoring with 1:30 left.
Ream led the Warriors with four ground balls, as Lycoming tied Muhlenberg with 27 each in the game. Freshman
Eric Schutta (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) added three ground balls and two caused turnovers, senior
Michael Wagner (Pasadena, Md./St. Mary's) posted three ground balls and caused a turnover and freshman
Joshua Tscheulin (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) added three ground balls from the goalkeeper slot.
Steven Casella led the Mules with two goals and an assist and Niko Del Moro added two scores. Both Brad D'Alessandro and Ryan Malloy finished with a goal and an assist. Brandon Miller won 10-of-12 at the faceoff 'x' and led the team with five ground balls.
Muhlenberg was able to win 14-of-20 faceoffs to help offset a tough Warrior defense that forced 16 turnovers, while Lycoming turned the ball over just 12 times.
Tscheulin played 45 minutes in net, making five saves and allowing six goals. Freshman
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) (1-3) made three saves and allowed five goals in the third quarter for the Warriors.
Kyle Larkin (3-3) notched eight saves for the Mules and he also added four ground balls.
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, March 19, when they host Misericordia in their final non-conference game of the year at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
