Tim Breau (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) provided three assists and sophomore
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) scored twice to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but an aggressive Geneseo squad was able to post an 11-6 win at College Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 23.
The Warriors (0-2 overall) fired 32 shots in the game, the same as Geneseo (1-0 overall), but Geneseo turned the ball over just 13 times and picked up 35 ground balls to limit a 15-of-20 effort at the faceoff 'x' from Lycoming.
Junior
Kyle Armstrong (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) was outstanding in the faceoff circle, winning 13-of-14 at the 'x', while picking up four groundballs and leaving senior
Michael Wagner (Pasadena, Md./St. Mary's) available on the wing to grab seven. Huff, to go along with his two goals, also added four groundballs and a caused turnover. Junior
Jacob Eller (Durham, N.C./Riverside) added two caused turnovers and three groundballs.

Peter Pluta (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) also added a goal and an assist.
Geneseo notched the first three goals in the game before Lycoming scored two man-up goas in the second quarter to close within 5-2. Breau found Pluta for the first score and then junior
Jake Wanamaker (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) for the second with 6:45 left in the half.
The Blue Knights scored the next four goals, though, to take an 8-2 lead, but Lycoming responded when freshman
Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) scored his first goal off the season off a give from Pluta with 7:01 left in the third quarter.
Huff added a score with 8:57 left in the fourth quarter to close within 9-4 and after two late Geneseo goals, Huff and freshman
Ryan Donofry (Flourtown, Pa./Springfield Township) found the back of the net to close within five goals in the final 1:13.
Freshman
Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) (0-1 overall) took the loss for the Warriors, posting five saves in the first half while freshman
Joshua Tscheulin (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) posted seven saves in the second. Michael Yehl earned the win for the Knights, making nine saves in 57 minutes in net.
Zachary DeBottis led the Knights with three goals and an assist and Tim Wright added a goal and three assists. Ryan Kelly also added two goals and an assist and Ryan Gulbransen and Sean Tomkinson each added two goals. Jack Crowley led the defense with four caused turnovers and six groundballs.
The Warriors benefitted from eight Geneseo penalties, scoring twice, while Geneseo was fruitless during three Warrior penalties.
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Feb. 27, when they head to Gwynedd Mercy for a 12 p.m. contest.
