Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) posted 16 points and freshman
Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) added 14 points, five assists and three steals, as the Lycoming College women's basketball team used 30 points in the paint and a strong first half to post a 69-54 win on Tuesday night, Nov. 22, in Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (3-1 overall) shot a healthy 51.2 percent (21-of-41) in the first half as it jumped out of the gate to take a 47-19 lead with by the 1:06 mark of the first half. In the second half, Misericordia (3-1 overall) was able to cut the gap down, but never to single digits.

Lycoming jumped out to a 9-2 lead and never looked back, leading by 13 at 26-13 at the end of the first quarter. A 3-pointer from freshman
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) got the lead to 37-17 with 6:15 left in the second quarter and Lycoming continued to run, with McFadden hitting a jumper to put the Warriors up 28 before Misericordia scored the last four points of the first half.

In the third quarter, Lycoming continued to hold a large lead although it shot just 24 percent in the quarter, heading into the final 10 minutes with a 58-34 lead. Misericordia went on a 14-5 run late in the fourth quarter to come within 15 points in the final two minutes, but couldn't get any closer than that.

Kline finished with 11 points and sophomore
Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) added nine points and seven rebounds to go with two blocks. Sophomore
Shelby Schoonover (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) finished with seven points and two rebounds. Junior
Haley SIpple (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) notched five points, eight rebounds and a block and freshman
Hailey Dayton (Reisterstown, Md./St. Timothy's) also posted five points and two assists.

Justine Seely led the Cougars with 15 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks and Liz Waleski finished with 10 points. Japriya Carroll added nine points and five rebounds and Jaclyn Hajec also posted nine points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Warriors held a 30-16 advantage in the paint and a 10-0 advantage on fastbreak points as Lycoming forced 18 turnovers while allowing just 12.

The Warriors get back on the court on Sunday, Nov. 27, when they host Susquehanna University in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
