LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore
Becca Painter (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) scored a career-high 11 points and the Lycoming College women's basketball held the lead for nearly 30 minutes, but Elizabethtown used a late run in the fourth quarter to post a 61-50 win in the championship game of the Terry Greene Tip-Off Classic at Franklin & Marshall's Mayser Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20.

Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) posted nine points, seven rebounds and three steals as she made the all-tournament team.

Mueller gave Lycoming (2-1 overall) a 48-47 lead with 3:55 left before Elizabethtown finished the game with a 14-2 run, as Lydia Lawson led the run with seven points.

The Warriors jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first half, with the run featuring four points from freshman
Akilah McFadden (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area), continuing to hold the lead and take a 16-11 lead into the second quarter after a pair of free throws from freshman
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) with 19 seconds left.

Lycoming opened the second period with six straight points to get a 22-11 advantage with 7:09 left, but Elizabethtown fought back to close the half on a 16-7 run to come within two points at 29-27 at the break. The two teams went back-and-forth in the second half, fighting through four ties and two lead changes in the third quarter, with Elizabethtown leading by as many as five in the period before an 11-3 run put Lycoming up 44-41 with 2:05 left after a layup by Kline.

Lycoming kept the lead through the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, with the only bucket during that time coming from McFadden, but a free throw and a 3-pointer by Nikki Thompson put the Blue Jays ahead 47-46 with 4:13 left, setting up Mueller's jumper before Elizabethtown made its final run.

McFadden finished with six points, two assists, two blocks and three rebounds and freshman
Hailey Dayton (Reisterstown, Md./St. Timothy's) added six points and two assists. Junior
Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) also added six points and three rebounds.

Elizabethtown, which outrebounded Lycoming 46-28, was led by 19 points and 16 rebounds from Emily Martin and Abby Beyer added 12 points. Julia Craig also added 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors finished 20-of-52 (38 percent) from the floor after starting the game by hitting 12-of-22 (55 percent) in the first half.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they host Misericordia at 6 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
