Records fall for Warriors at Mideast Regionals

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Freshmen Quincy Amabile (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) and Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) posted school records at their respective distances and the Lycoming College women's cross country team finished a school-record 31st at the NCAA Mideast Regional at DeSales University on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Amabile posted a time of 26:44 on the men's 8K course, becoming the first Warrior in program history to cross the 27-minute mark, shattering the record of 27:06 set by Greg Seymour in 1994 and tied by Amabile earlier this season at DeSales, as he finished 78th in a field of 351 runners. Long posted her record time of 24:01 on a 6K course to break Michelle Herman's record of 24:14.8 set during the 2009 NCAA Regionals, as she finished 83rd in a field of 371 runners.

The Warrior women finished 31st in a field of 51 teams, surpassing the previous best of a 37th-place finish in 2012.

Senior Victoria Wilson (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland) ran the fourth fastest 6K in program history, dropping to 25:10 in her final collegiate run to finish 110th and senior Sarah Donovan (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) came within three seconds of her best time – the sixth-fastest in school history, when she finished in 25:37 to take 192nd. Junior Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) dropped under 26 minutes for the first time in her career, posting the eighth-best time in program history in 25:57 while finishing 220th.
